Bird flu drug avoids blood vessel leakage

New drug maintains the integrity of blood vessels which helps in preventing lung diseases which occurs due to bird flu infection.

Researchers from University of Chicago are developing drugs which help in the prevention of bird flu infection destroying the lungs by developing mechanisms which helps// in maintaining the lung from infection and also immune suppress the infection to avoid inflammatory cells produced by the cytokines (immune cells) causing an autoimmune destruction of the lungs leading to increased inflammation and leakage in blood vessels leading to death. It is known that the bird flu virus is found to be more destructive against young men due to increased immune response against the virus which leads to autoimmune destruction of the lungs leading to death. The new drug designed by the researchers contains active compounds which help in maintaining the integrity of blood vessels as these compounds amalgamates the cells of the blood vessels. The new drug is yet to be approved by FDA and a clinical trial is planned by the researchers using their new drug.
