Sichuan, China’s third most populated province is attached by bird flu disease.
Sichuan is a major agricultural centre and has more than 87 million inhabitants.The bird flu has already taken 70 people throughout Asia since 2003 and with 40 deaths occurring in 2005 alone.
China has confirmed 7 human cases and 3 deaths with the latest being that of a 41 year old woman.
The disease spread widely in the Dazhu County (south west Chinese province) killing 1800 birds.
The strain that caused the death was confirmed to be that of H5N1 strain.
Due to this 12,900 birds were killed in and around the Dazhu County to prevent the further spread of the disease.

It’s feared that China would be the cause of a global bird flu pandemic because of its population and it has the world biggest poultry population.
