Canadian authoroties have isolated a non-infectious and less pathogenic strain of Bird flu virus from its duck farm

Canadian authoroties following for the second time in a month have isolated a second case of bird flu virus in a duck farm. Both the virus isolated were the H5 strain and this strain is found to be a non-infectious and less pathogenic strain.

Canadian authoroties are confident from the lab report that this strain does not spread nor did not cause any clinical infections in birds and is found to have less pathogenecity compared to the bird flu virus strains of asia which is found to be comparatively more pathogenic and virulent.

Though the strains of virus found in canada is less virulent the Canadian Government is not taking any risks they have intensified the surveillance, after last weeks report of H5 strain in canadian duck farm the authoroties have killed more than 60,000 birds as a precautionary methods to stop any possible spread of virus to humans and birds and are organizing nation wide Flu watch programs and have asked the hospital authoroties to report any case of respiratory infections and have asked the farm owners to report immediately any suspicious bird deaths.
