Researchers at Charité University Hospital in Berlin have created a unique video in which a 24-year old mother agreed to spend the final stages of her labor inside a MRI machine, allowing the researchers to capture what happens inside a woman’s body during the birth process.

"Knowledge about the mechanism of labor is based on assumptions and radiographic studies performed decades ago," the researchers wrote in their study.
