Body Language Experts Size Up Celebrity Couples and Sexual Chemistry

An expert says that despite rumours that Elisabetta is the woman who will end George's long-time bachelorhood, their body language suggests this isn't a long-term love story.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand may be deeply in love but will their relationship last forever? Well, body language experts are trying to calculate exactly that through their pics.

And it's not just the newly engaged duo; the experts have put other celebrity couples to the ultimate test to work out how long they have.

George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis

An expert says that despite rumours that Elisabetta is the woman who will end George's long-time bachelorhood, their body language suggests this isn't a long-term love story.

"They're only leaning into each other from the waist up. A big gap between partners' hips and groins often suggests lack of a sexual chemistry," the Daily Telegraph quoted Loisel-Furey as saying.

"George has a tight grip on Elisabetta's hand, but it looks awkward.

"He's so used to being a bachelor, he's posing as though he's forgotten she's even there; she's just arm-candy.

"The dramatic tilt in George's shoulders and his stony expression show that he isn't at all comfortable with her being there," Loisel-Furey added.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry

Allan Pease, author of The Definitive Book Of Body Language, says that Russell Brand is exhibiting some odd behaviour with new fiance Katy Perry.

"Previous photographs of Russell with girlfriends show he's always the one who calls the shots in his relationships. However, in this photo, Katy is walking slightly ahead, showing that she's the boss," Pease said.

"Although, for the moment, these two appear to have found some sort of balance, there's a strong chance this relationship won't last. Their body language isn't mirroring each other, which usually means they don't share the same mutual beliefs and values. I'd say this is an intense affair that probably won't last the distance," Pease added.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Pease says Brangelina are most photographed, most talked-about couple in the world, and the constant rumours that they've split up show in their body language.

"They've been together six years and, for most of that time, their body language has been perfectly in sync.

Judging by a picture, Pease says 'they're struggling to maintain their emotional connection'.

"Angelina has a strong grip on Brad's jacket; by holding on to him fiercely, she's making it clear to everyone that he's her property.

"Although she's smiling, her slightly narrowed eyes and turned-down lips betray her true feelings. She's not happy at all," he adds.
