At the University of Oxford, scientists have discovered that there is a link between the size of the circle of friends a person has and their brain size. The findings showed that the larger the group of friends more is the grey matter in a person's brains, as well as increased connectivity between brain regions, the Huffington Post reported.
Brain regions which could be getting affected by this include the anterior cingulate cortex and the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex.
For the study, researchers scanned brains of 18 participants and asked about the number of people they had interacted with in October.
