Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros says his brain tumor left him suffering like a dog.
The legendary golfer will start his fifth session of chemotherapy this week, but after fighting through four operations, a bout of depression and fears of going blind, Ballesteros says he is 90 per cent recovered - and even playing golf again."I have suffered like a dog but the fact I was a professional sportsman and used to competing and fighting helped me. The worst moment was when I returned home and realised my limitations. I couldn't see from the left eye, I almost couldn't walk," The Sun quoted him, as saying.
"I was starting to think about the future and started feeling very afraid. I felt useless. At that moment there was a setback - I became depressed, for which I had treatment. It was like a race that doesn't have a distance or a goal. Now I am perfect. I'm alive. I can do things. I speak, I can reason. I have had a lot of luck," he added.
"I have already recovered 90 per cent, and I can do any kind of sport - running, swimming, rowing, and I am also hitting some short golf shots. I see everything in a different way. I appreciate everything more," he said.
