Nearly 70 doctors in a range of specialties from the Brazilian Medical Association will be present at the daily polyclinic walk-in sessions during the games.
The Rio 2016 Games will be held from August 5 to 21, next year. South America will be hosting the Olympics for the first time. Athletes and delegates attending the Rio 2016 Olympics will be treated by doctors from the Brazilian Medical Association. Nearly 70 doctors in a range of specialties will be on hand for daily polyclinic walk-in sessions during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Joao Grangeiro, chief medical officer for the Rio 2016 Committee, said, "The Brazilian Medical Association is a very well-respected institution. Its members are outstanding professionals and teachers in different areas of medicine. This technical and scientific support is part of Rio 2016’s commitment to create a panel of specialists to guarantee the best medical care for athletes and delegates."
