Breast cancer patients case against her doctor for negligent treatment has been rejected by the jury.
Deborah Carney a breast cancer patient has to pay thousands of dollars as a compensation to her doctor as the jury rejected her case against the doctor. Doctor Robert Newton is the family doctor of Deborah Carney against whom she had put a case for negligent treatment as they feel that the doctor missed an early breast cancer diagnosis. Carney had put a case against Dr. Newton for a compensation of $2million for the pain, medical treatment and suffering.
The Jury rejected the case against Dr. Newton and moreover has asked the family of the patient Carney to pay compensation to Dr Newton for defaming him. Carney was earlier told by the doctor to have a look at her lump and after four months she developed breast cancer and later developed cancer secondaries in other parts of the body. The Jury dismissed the case and said that the doctor cannot be hold responsible and the doctor is not negligent in his duty.
