Brit Woman Undergoes Expensive Eyebrow Transplant

A 30-year old British woman paid up more than $5,500 to undergo an eyebrow transplant after she was left with nearly bald eyebrows thanks to years of overzealous plucking. Claire Culverwell, a Manchester based dental professional, revealed that she would constantly use her tweezers to pluck out her eyebrows for over 14 years as she wanted to look like celebrities of her time. However her overzealous plucking left her with a bare forehead as she permanently stunted the growth of her eyebrows.

She underwent a six-hour transplant surgery at Crown Clinic near Manchester with transplant surgeon, Asim Shahalak, taking a strip of hair from the back of her head to graft it on her forehead.

Culverwell revealed that though her new eyebrows grow very quickly and requires a trim every two weeks, she is delighted to have got her eyebrows back. “It badly affected my confidence. I didn't like people seeing me without make-up. And obviously it affected me with men. You don't want your boyfriend to see your real eyebrows. It is the best thing I’ve ever done”, she said.
