Britney Spears has been cleared of complaints made to child welfare workers.

Britney Spears has been cleared of complaints made to child welfare workers.

The news was confirmed by Spears’ lawyer Laura Wasser, who however declined to comment on describe the nature of the charges levelled against the singer.

Wasser said that officials at the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services will no longer be pursuing action against the singer.

'It does not appear the county will pursue any action at this time,' People quoted her, as saying.

Wasser also said that though she was not aware who had brought about the complaint, she was 'trying to find out' who the person was.

The complaints came at a time when Britney was already fighting ex hubby Kevin Federline for custody of their two young sons – Sean Preston and Jayden James, and it was thought that if the charges were proved it would seriously dent her case.

According to court officials, at least three more court hearings will take place this year in the couple’s custody dispute, including appearances Nov. 26 and Dec. 18 to review independent evaluations by the court and to consider Federline's request for primary custody of their sons.
