A promotional campaign in which free condoms are handed out with every purchase of Vodka Cruisers has been slammed as "poor form" by a national alcohol body.
On May 22, Independent Distillers Australia (IDA) released a statement to confirm that it had recalled the promotional campaign in which condoms were distributed. The promotion was limited to just over a dozen stores, the IDA said.
"The placement of condoms in liquor outlets was an isolated action undertaken by a sales person, limited to 13 stores," theage.com.au quoted IDA chairman Doug McKay, as saying in a statement.
"We accept that it looks like poor form and I have directed this promotion and associated promotions to be withdrawn," he said.
According to IDA rep, all the stores were located in New South Wales.
