Cancer killing antibody effective against prostate cancer

Researchers at the University of California, Los Angles have taken a major step forward in the war against cancer by identifying the mechanism, which blocks off the development of prostate cancer in animals.

The antibody that has been named 1G8 was discovered by UCLA scientists and according to Dr. Robert E. Reiter, a professor of urology and researcher at UCLA's Jonsson Cancer Center and the study's senior author it tells the cancer that it is time to die. The detailed report of the study is to be published in tomorrow's issue of Cancer Research, a peer- reviewed journal published by the American Association for Cancer Research.
