Cancer Risk Not Connected To Fish Diet

A recent study has contradicted earlier research which said that fish was capable of scaling down the risk of cancer.

A recent study has contradicted earlier research which said that fish was capable of scaling down the risk of cancer. The Omega-3 fatty acids which are present in fish do not serve to reduce cancer risk, according to the recent research. Lower incidence of cancer has however been witnessed in the case of people who consume large quantities of omega-3 fatty acid.

Several trials have attempted to assess the effects of omega-3 fatty acids on cancer treatment by adding it to the diet either as omega-3 fatty acid–rich foods or as dietary supplements. Because of the results of some studies, a number of omega-3 fatty acid–containing dietary supplements have appeared on the market claiming to protect against the development of a variety of conditions including cancer, even though studies have reported mixed results. The new research however suggests that there is very little evidence to prove that the incidence of cancer can be reduced by omega-3 fatty acids.
