You can always check your options for health insurance as there are many affordable options available today.

Change of Job Does Not Mean Losing Health Insurance
When you lose your job, have reduced number of working hours or decide to do your own thing, the last thing you need to worry about is health coverage. Now thanks to the Affordable Care Act – you can have security and peace of mind. You can buy quality health care at the Health Insurance Marketplace. For those who qualify – with their family for Medicaid or tax credits you can find something to fit your budget.
Nearly seven in ten consumers could buy coverage for $100 and half of them at $50 a month. Karen Williams who was a 52 year old high school teacher left her teaching job in Colorado Springs even though she was covered by employer sponsored health insurance which cost $450. Her daughter is covered by CHIP- low cost health coverage for children for families who do not qualify for Medicaid.

Karen could now think of resigning her job since though she loved teaching it was difficult to manage expenses and she could earn more if she started her own publishing business. In 2007 she had to pay more than $600 a month which was unaffordable but now with the Affordable Care Act she could get affordable health care and could enroll at the marketplace even though it was closed till November 2014. There is an option fro special enrollment for those without jobs.

People who lost job based insurance or had adopted a child or had matured beyond their parents insurance or any other special circumstances could enroll at any time. When you were eligible for Medicaid and your children for CHIP – could enroll at any time disregarding the enrollment period.
