This year Cancer Research UK is expecting that 50,000 men and women will come together to raise just over £5 million to help Cancer Research UK.

Run 10k for Cancer Research UK, supported by Tesco, is a series of 41 events held in picturesque locations throughout the UK this autumn. This year Cancer Research UK is expecting that 50,000 men and women will come together to raise just over £5 million to help Cancer Research UK.

Over 1, 500 runners are expected to come together on a North Yorkshire stately home this autumn pooling in their efforts to beat cancer.

The sixth annual Run 10k is open to men and women and will take place in the beautiful grounds of Castle Howard.   Last year this venue was transformed into a film set for the Hollywood movie, Brideshead Revisited, that is to be released shortly.

Entries are welcomed for 10km race at Castle Howard - which aims to raise £85,000 for Cancer Research UK. The race will take place on Sunday, October 12, at 10am, and will start and finish in the shadow of Castle Howard..

For men and women of Motherwell, Run 10k is calling for entries and it has been confirmed that the event will return for the second successive year to Strathclyde Country Park on Sunday, October 26.

Helen Webster, Run 10k organizer for Strathclyde said: "Cancer affects so many people and joining the Strathclyde Country Park 10k is a great way to support them by raising money for Cancer Research UK’s work to find new ways of treating, curing and preventing the disease."

Cancer Research UK supports many scientists in and around Scotland. Much of this research is taking place at the Cancer Research UK Beatson Laboratories in Glasgow.  Researchers here are leading innovative studies into all aspects of cancer biology and conducting a range of clinical trials.

"Running 10k is an achievable challenge for everyone with some training. Why don’t you challenge your friends and family to take part with you?" asks Helen Webster.
