Recent research which surveyed the response of 7342 women found that those who were physically abused as children have a big risk of suffering chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome. Exploring the mind-body relationship, researchers said that stress during childhood can leave an everlasting effect, increasing the risk of physical disorders.
The study found that the women who were physically abused as children carried a two fold risk of suffering chronic fatigue syndrome.
