People in New Zealand have found a unique way of letting women know that drinking during pregnancy is a vice. Church bells rang in Nelson and Timaru on Saturday morning.

This ritual is followed worldwide on the ninth day of the ninth month to protest against raise awareness of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Organizer Molly Aitchison said the disease could be simply avoided if women stopped drinking during pregnancy.
