A new research has warned that eating a slice of cheese every day could increase the risk of bladder cancer. Researchers from Belgium and Holland conducted a test which analyzed the eating habits of over 200 bladder cancer victims and compared them to 386 non-cancer volunteers.
They found that that risk of bladder cancer increases substantially if a person ate at least 53g of cheese every day.
“We found a potentially protective effect from a high intake of olive oil and a suggestive increased risk from high cheese consumption”, the researchers said though they pointed out that a more extensive study should be conducted to arrive at an accurate assumption.
The details are published in the European Journal of Cancer
