Professor Ian Wilmut, the creator of Dolly will be the new Director of Edinburgh University, which will be spearheading the stem cell research funded by the UK Government. The Government of United Kingdom has funded £50m for stem cell research, which will find new avenues in the treatment of Leukemia, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, diabetes, and Neurological diseases.
Stem cells are the unspecialized blood cell that has the capacity to replicate and produce its own blood cells, Platelets, red and white blood cells. The Edinburgh University will host the highly equipped infrastructure for stem cell therapies and will provide a platform for researchers all over the world for developing new stem cell therapies.
