Cyber Bulling More Traumatic Than Conventional Bullying
A new study conducted by the American Psychological Association has found that cyber bullying is more traumatic to the victims rather than traditional bullying since they cannot escape the online world.
The study also revealed that over 20 percent of cyber bullies make use of the popular social networking sites while over 40 percent of women admitted that they have been harassed after dating online.

Cyber bullying victims have difficulties in sleeping and display other symptoms such as stress, anxiety and nightmares. Lead researcher Elizabeth Carll said that unlike traditional bullying, the victims cannot escape to a safe place.

“It is my observation that the symptoms related to cyber-stalking and e-harassment may be more intense than in-person harassment, because the impact is more devastating due to the 24/7 nature of online communication, inability to escape to a safe place, and global access of the information”, Dr Carll said.
