Making an impression on ladies is a tough business, but a nine-year-old boy has made it seem like a child's play.

Making an impression on ladies is a tough business, but a nine-year-old boy has made it seem like a child's play. Meet Alec Greven, whose book 'How To Talk To Girls' is a compilation of dating tips.

The book is being published in Britain just in time for Saint Valentine's Day.

Greven penned 'How To Talk To Girls' as a pamphlet after observing his fellow classmates try their chances with the fairer sex.

Alec had begun his book originally as a creative writing project, and put it for sale at his school fair at the suggestions of his teachers.

The little American shot to fame after local Colorado media got its hand on the pamphlet, and had appeared on Ellen DeGeneres's TV chat show after which he was approached by the publisher HarperCollins.

His guide, which spent five weeks in the New York Times best-seller's list, also earned Alec a six-figure film deal with Fox.

And now, his 'expertise' is expected to repeat similar success in the British book shops.

The young lad handed out advice such as "combing your hair, cutting down on sugar and knowing that while 73 per cent of regular girls "ditch boys", the rate increase to 98 per cent for pretty girls."

"If you are a boy who needs help getting girls, this book has all the answers," the Telegraph quoted Alec as saying.

"By the way, all statistics in this book are based on my observations at Soaring Hawk Elementary School.

"Let's say a boy was going to try and say 'Hi' to a girl he likes, I would stand nearby and peek and listen in. If a problem happened twice, I put it in my book. If something worked a few times, I put it in my book, too. I did research around the playground," he added.
