 Delhi Government to Launch Chacha Nehru Sehat Yojana on November 14
Children’s Day on November 14 will see the Delhi government implement one of its most ambitious health schemes with more than 14 lakh school children expected to receive free health check-ups and medical treatment.
The Chacha Nehru Sehat Yojana was announced by chief minister Sheila Dikshit when she presented the budget for 2011-12 back in March. Over Rs 100 crore has been set aside to implement the scheme which will provide health check-ups to all children under 14 years of age.

The government revealed that the scheme will be first implemented in 100 schools before expanding to 854 government-run schools. Comprehensive health profiles of all students will be compiled and stored in electronic format.

Announcing the scheme, Ms Dikshit said, “We want to make this ambitious scheme a grand success which will go a long way in making all school children healthy which will result in making of a healthy society and healthy nation.”
