Desk Jobs Increase Risk of Premature Death
A new research has found that those who have a sitting job, such as in front of a computer or a driving job, are at a greater risk of premature death even if they have an active lifestyle.
The study was conducted by researchers at University of Sydney's School of Public Health who looked into more than 200,000 people in New South Wales, making it the largest such study in the southern hemisphere.

The researchers found that those who spent the highest amount of time sitting every day were 48 percent more likely to die prematurely compared to those who sat less than four hours a day. The risk did not subside even if you exercised regularly.

“They show that physical activity, while important, is no 'get out of jail free' card”, lead researcher Professor Adrian Bauman said.
