A San Francisco fraud doctor without license has been impersonating as a licensed medical practitioner and conducting fake medical tests on immigrants, providing them with false certificates and medical records. He was slapped 106 felonies after his guilt was established, according o the prosecutors.
Stephen Brian Turner, 51, without any license, hood winked immigrants by injecting them with saline water, instead of vaccines. He had also extracted blood to check for AIDS and Syphilis, and supplied fake certificates.According to prosecutors, Turner has ripped off $247,000 from 1,417 victims, by making them believe that they were undergoing valid immigration medical exams, which are routine and mandatory to acquire citizenship status. "Instead of helping these people, this defendant allegedly manipulated them for his own personal profit," San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris said in a statement.
Turner continued to practice till last year despite surrendering the California medical license in 1998. Past Patients are being advised to go through a re-exam under another Doctor.
