Doctors are using Botox jabs to cure a new condition known as 'stilettotarsal', caused by years of walking in high heels.
Many girls suffer inflammation in the balls of their feet after decades spent teetering in stilettos. Now, doctors are using the chemical to plump up the affected area, giving patients built-in protective pads to deal with the condition.
Medics in Crosby, Merseyside, report a 20 per cent rise in women in their 40s requesting the 295 pounds procedure, dubbed foot filler.
"The balls of the feet take a pounding in high heels, but girls won't give them up," the Sun quoted Marie Jenkins, patient coordinator at the Birkdale Clinic, as saying.
"The Botox procedure protects the nerves and the soft tissue and makes walking in their heels much easier," Jenkins added.
