Donated Eyes Found in Gwalior Government Hospital's Garbage Dump

K.K.Khare, the administrator of the hospital in Gwalior, has suspended eye department's head Dr.U.C.Tiwari, Dr.D.K.Shakya and another official.

Donated Eyes Found in Gwalior Government Hospital`s Garbage Dump
In a shocking incident of medical negligence in Madhya Pradesh, eyes donated for a transplant were found in the garbage dump of the government J.A. Hospital. The head of the eye department and two others have been suspended in this case.
Gwalior resident Kishan Gambhir had donated his mother’s eyes after her death. But was distraught after learning what befell his contribution. Taking a serious view of the incident, hospital administrator K.K. Khare ordered suspension of eye department’s head Dr. U.C. Tiwari, Dr. D.K. Shakya and another official.

As the news spread, many people who had donated eyes of their deceased relatives staged a protest at the hospital. Some of them even demanded the eyes be given back to them.
