Date rape drugs are difficult to detect as they are odorless, colorless and tasteless but when consumed can completely disorient the person. Worse, the victim may feel sleepy and may not be able to recall any incident, a big risk for sexual assault.

Cups invented by DrinkSavvy Company employs a technology which can alert people of the presence of date rape drugs in their drinks.

The material changes color when exposed to the commonly used date rape drugs -GHB, Ketamine, and Rohypnol. Glasses and straws with the same technology are also available which party goers can keep with them and check before they consume the drink.
