Researchers have found that patients taking the drug Prozac after stroke well tolerated anger and emotional stress.
Professor Jong S. Kim and his colleagues from Asan medical center has reported in the Journal Stroke that antidepressant drug Prozac is found effective in treating emotional stress or emotional incontinence //which occurs after stroke. The researchers conducted their study in 152 patients who were given daily 20 mg of the drug Prozac for 3 months and the results found that the study patients showed better results compared to placebo. Though the study patients did not show any improvement in depression but they were found to have improved to withstand and tolerate anger and emotional incontinence. Drug Prozac was found to be well tolerated in experimental studies and showed very low adverse effects in clinical studies.
