Following low reimbursements of funds Eden Medical Center has finalized its decision to call off its program to provide elective cost covered in-patient services to Medi-Cal beneficiaries
Following low reimbursements of funds Eden Medical Center a health affiliate with campuses in Castro Valley and San Leandro has finalized its decision to call off its program to provide elective cost covered in-patient services to Medi-Cal beneficiaries hitherto made available through the California Medical Assistance Commission.
This would formally affect about 2% of patients who will now be referred to various other hospitals for specific services informed the hospital spokes person.Patients coming to the hospital for emergency care, labor or delivery (even C-sections) or psychiatric care will be exempted from this decision. However elective surgeries like hip and knee replacements will no more be provided by the hospital said a spokes person categorically.
Apparently the Eden Medical Center is falling short by 5-6 million$ in its attempt to cover medical costs which has forced the board to come to such a decision.
