Equal Rights for HIV Infected Workers

Finally some light at the end of the tunnel. Those infected with human immunodeficiency will get better respect and absolutely no discrimination at workplaces

Finally some light at the end of the tunnel. Those infected with human immunodeficiency will get better respect and absolutely no discrimination at workplaces. Employers will have to face legal charges if they fire those with HIV/AIDS, due to the disease.

HIV causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome. The ministry of Health and Welfare is due to present the revised bill of HIV/AIDS, which will seek to protect the rights of HIV carriers and AIDS patients with a motive to remove all the discrimination against them.

Regulations such as sick leave will be adhered to in a similar manner to HIV/AIDS patients, and they cannot be fired because of AIDS/HIV. And those employers who go against this regulation, will be liable to a year’s prison confinement or a fine of 3 million.

A Ministry Official said,``The revision will greatly expand the right to labor of those suffering from HIV/AIDS. So far, the government could not discipline those discriminating against them in employment, promotion or job training, as there has been no disciplinary regulation on the cases.''
