A six-month-old female foetus wrapped in a polythene was found by the roadside in the old jail complex area of Gurgaon on Saturday, police said.
Gurgaon police said that a female foetus was found by the roadside in the old jail complex area. It is the fifth foetus found here during the last two months, including the one found near the civil hospital three days ago. Four of the foetuses were female. A passer-by informed the police after the nearly six-month-old foetus was found wrapped in a polythene in the old city area.
Prima facie, it seemed that the foetus was aborted at a hospital since the polythene sheet around it is usually used there," a senior police officer said.
Gurgaon has the lowest sex ratio in the state after Rewari district. Haryana has 834 females to 879 males.
