Fish-oil tablets may not be of any use in enhancing children's brainpower, a study has revealed. The study showed that pupils' reading, spelling and co-ordination were "largely unaffected" by taking omega-3 supplements, reports The Daily Express.
The four-month study involved 450 children, aged eight to 10, across a range of social classes at 17 schools in Newport, south Wales.
Professor Amanda Kirby, who led the study at the University of Wales, said: "The fact we saw some changes in children's behaviour and learning is significant and we need to understand more."
