Medrobotics Corp revealed that it has received approval by European authorities.
Massachusetts-based medical robotics company Medrobotics Corp revealed that it has received approval by European authorities to set up a limited commercial launch of its robot-assisted flexible endoscopic platform Flex System.
The company said that the Flex System will allow doctors to perform procedures in places that straight instruments cannot reach. The surgeons can manipulate Flex System to go around anatomical structures to hard-to-reach locations while third party flexible surgery instruments, such as the company’s own Flex Instruments, operate in confined spaces.
“The Flex System provides a unique platform to access and visualize surgical targets in difficult to reach locations such as the oropharynx and endolarynx. With currently available technologies, we are often trading off between access, visualization and two-handed surgery, but the Flex System gives us all three”, the Co-Chair of Medrobotics Medical Advisory Board, Dr Marshall Strome said.
