‘Diwali is often accompanied by a polluted atmosphere, dirt and other forms of grime that makes looking beautiful a difficult task. Beautician Shahnaz Husain stresses the need to have a special skin care regime during this festive season.’
While Husain admits that bursting of crackers is par for the cause during Diwali, she cautions that crackers lessen humidity in the air, causing the skin lose moisture and therefore advises people to spare some time to cleanse their skin to maintain or even intensify its texture.
Husain said, "One need to keep the skin moisturized and also protect it from sun exposure. Normal to dry skinned people need to cleanse their face twice a day with a cleansing gel containing ingredients like aloe vera and massage the cleanser lightly into the skin and remove it with moist cotton wool. You can also apply rose water. People with oily skin should mix one teaspoon of glycerin with 100 ml of rose water and use a little of this lotion after cleansing to moisturize the skin."
The other home remedies that Husain recommended are as follows-
* Apply honey on the face daily for 10 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.
* Apply aloe vera plant or its gel as a natural moisturizer.
