For Women There is No Difference Between Pets and Babies
A survey by insurer Petplan has found that a majority of women treat their pets in a manner similar to babies.
"Dogs and cats can offer their owners many of the benefits frequently provided by children, including love and affection, companionship and happiness,” said Dr Deborah Wells, senior psychology lecturer at Queens University in Belfast.

Scottish women have also begun to dress up their pets and also indulge in child-talk with them.

The survey also found that 75% treat their pets with expensive gifts and food items on special occasions like Christmas or the pets’ birthday. Furthermore, 82% feed foods like cheese, cake and crisps to their pets.

Some pet owners worry when they have to take business trips or holidays and leave their pets back at home.
