A photographer who had HIV has been forgiven by his lover who said she will support him even though he had given her HIV and had also infected a second woman with the virus. Les Pringle, 48, from North Tyneside, faced a jail term for three-and-a-half years at Newcastle crown court after he infected the unnamed woman - known as X .
He had ignored the advice of the doctors and had unprotected sex with her, after being aware he had the virus. He assumed he could not pass on the virus
The woman, who is a mother, confirmed that she did not deliberately infect her and she feels forgiveness in her heart. After Pringle was sentenced, Detective Superintendent Steve Wade conveyed that the police were happy with the sentence, 'He breached a partner's trust and showed absolutely no regard for her personal safety by withholding the information that he was HIV positive,' Det Supt Wade said.
