Fresh bird flu vaccines made in China

The ubiquitous made in China tag, an evidence of the consistent ingenuity displayed by China, has now entered into developing vaccines for bird-flu. Additionally they have also devised a new technology that will help them detect the disease faster, according to reports released by the Ministry of Agriculture. National Avian Influenza Reference Laboratory has been responsible for developing the vaccines.

The ministry is hopeful of the powerful defensive mechanism embodied in the vaccines when used together, which is capable of fighting the lethal H5N1 strain of bird-flu.

Though the vaccines are yet to go into complete production, the Lab director Chen Hualan said that the vaccines have been very efficient in containing the spread of avian influenza.

Another development in this field is the conception of a novel diagnostic test capable of detecting the H5 virus within minutes, which is absolutely needed to check the spread of infection. According to World Health Organization statistics, a total of 225 human infections leading to 128 deaths globally, have been reported.
