Gardasil has been recently approved as a vaccine for the prevention of cervical cancer.
Health officials have stated that Gardasil, which is a vaccine by Merck, for the prevention of cervical cancer, has now been approved for usage.
The drug Gardasil, which is reported to offer 100% protection against two hpv's that are associated with the onset of cervical cancer, making it a very practical option for young girls and women.Unfortunately reports have indicated that there is a slow uptake for the vaccine and many people are of the belief that this could be the case, as many parents do not want their young children receiving the vaccine due to their belief that they are too young to be dealing with issues of a sexual nature.
It was explained by health specialists that in order to get the best result efficiency wise the vaccine should to be administered to girls before they reach sexual maturity. And this could be a major contributing reason for the hesitation on behalf of many parents to take their children to the doctor.
One mother had explained, “I feel like I am protecting her and that was my final decision to get this vaccine. I knew that I was going to protect her in the future from cancer. This is a vaccine for cancer and that's why I did it.” The health experts are of the belief that the rates of immunizations will increase as more and more awareness concerning the drug and its benefits is educated to the public.
