Gates Foundation Allots $41 Million Towards Infant-Maternal Care

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has extended its program reach to infant and maternal care by granting $41 million for this purpose to 'Concern Worldwide'

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has extended its program reach to infant and maternal care by granting $41 million for this purpose to 'Concern Worldwide', which is an international humanitarian organisation.

The grant is supposed to cover maternal and child health in six countries and will kick off in India, Malawi and Sierra Leone initially.

"Even the most effective health interventions can only save lives if they reach the people who need them. Concern Worldwide's commitment to seeking innovation from diverse, non-traditional sources will be a key ingredient in the success of this programme," said a statement released by Jaime Sepzlveda, Director of the Integrated Health Solutions Development programme at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Concern Worldwide CEO Tom Arnold said that the main aim was to test new ideas to improve the state of the world as a whole.
