Doctors in Nepal have removed a giant tumour weighing over 25 kilogram from the belly of an 11-year-old girl, the largest to be taken out from a patient in this age group.

Doctors in Nepal have removed a giant tumour weighing over 25 kilogram from the belly of an 11-year-old girl, the largest to be taken out from a patient in this age group.

The tumour in the belly of Aitamaya Limbu, a resident of Terathum district, extended from the uterus to the heart and was taken out successfully yesterday, doctors at Birat Nursing Home in south-eastern Nepal told the 'Himalayan Times'.

"It is the largest tumour taken out from a patient of this age group in Nepal," Dr Gyanendra Karki, who conducted the operation told the newspaper.

Aitamaya's father Ran Bahadur Limbu said his daughter used to faint frequently and villagers, seeing her belly, used to accuse her of being pregnant.
