Tripura Health minister Tapan Chakraborty told reporters that the decision to provide approval to B R Ahmbedkar Hospital, run by Global Education Net (GENET) for starting the MBBS course was taken in the meeting of the Medical Council of India (MCI) yesterday.Agartala Government Medical College got the approval of the MCI last year and with the approval of the GENET's Medical College the total number of Medical Colleges in Tripura would be two now, which would play a vital role in improving the health infrastructure of the state, Chakraborty said.
The Health minister said the private Medical College will have hundred seat, out of which 25 would be reserved for students from Tripura.
