Foreign Minister of Australia, Alexander Downer has sanctioned $17 million to take the global effort forward in improving the condition of HIV-AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
To quote Mr. Downer, "Global Fund grants have allowed more than half a million people to be treated with anti-retroviral drugs for HIV, more than $1.4 million people to be treated for tuberculosis. More than 11 million insecticide-treated bed nets have been distributed to prevent malaria."
