Who would have thought that the humble guava, considered a poor man’s fruit in India, will score the highest among fruits for its rich antioxidants?
Recent tests conducted on many Indian fruits such as mangoes, papaya, apples, grapes, pomegranates and guava found the highest concentration of antioxidants in the modest guava.

Antioxidants can protect against cell damage, slow down the ageing process and can also protect against cancer.

Tests revealed that 100 gms of guava contained antioxidant concentrations of about 500 milligrams. Antioxidant concentration of 330mg was found in 100 gms of plums and 135mg in pomegranates. 100 gms of Mangoes contained 170 mg of antioxidants.

The present day lifestyle with increased stress, pollution and exposure to synthetic foods has triggered the generation of free radicals in the body.

Antioxidants help fight these free radicals which is responsible for ageing, cancer and many other diseases.
