Civil surgeon Dr. V.K. Govila informed that in 2009 the village had a sex ratio of 821 to 1,000. But this ratio has been falling every month. He said, “The ratio had dropped to as low as 592:1,000 in October. It improved after several clinics were raided in Meham town, about 10 km from the village. A centre carrying out ultrasound tests was also sealed.”
