Dr David Greening of Sydney IVF has said that having regular sex will make sperm healthy and increase the chances of women getting pregnant.
In a study on 118 men with fertility issues, Dr Greening and colleagues found that ejaculating daily for one week reduced sperm DNA damage from 34% to 26% in 81% of the participants."It seems safe to conclude that couples with relatively normal semen parameters should have sex daily for up to a week before the ovulation date," Dr Greening said in a statement. "In the context of assisted reproduction, this simple treatment may assist in improving sperm quality and ultimately achieving a pregnancy."
The findings were presented to the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Amsterdam on Tuesday.
