Health, Family and Love are Best Indicators of Prosperity
A new survey commissioned by a financial services technology provider in Australia reveals that a large number of Australians are equating prosperity in non-material terms rather than the amount of wealth that they possess.
The study was commissioned by Cuscal who polled over 1,500 citizens in six different states across the country. More than 22 percent of the people believed that health was the best indicator of prosperity while family and love came second and third with 20 percent and 16 percent respectively.

However only 46 percent of the participants considered themselves to be prosperous, either in a material or non-material terms, though more than a third were optimistic about their lives in 2012.

“I think what we're seeing is that people view prosperity across a range of different measures, not just the classic financial measures that we're used to discussing. Non-traditional measures of health and family well-being and even love and partnership strike a really important chord with people in terms of how they see their prosperity”, Cuscal’s general manager, David Heine said.
