The federal government realizes that the success of the Affordable Care Act lies in more and more people aware of it.
A new campaign “Get Covered America” is new campaign taken by volunteers, to educate people of Orlando on health care options under the new health law. This non-profit organization is initiated by Enroll India which is a non-profit group. The Affordable Care Act takes effect from the beginning of next year and under it US citizens will be able to view available options on the health insurance exchanges, from October 1st. All the available plans and premiums will be online on these exchanges; also there will be personal or online help to navigate through these options. "Once the exchanges open, we will be able to connect you with right enrollment resources," said Juanica Fernandes of Orlando, an organizer for Enroll America.
Citizens can't enroll in the new health-insurance options until Oct. 1, but Enroll America wants communities to know about the process now so citizens are prepared in the fall. Volunteers gathered in the Lorna Doone Park near the Florida Citrus Bowl. They spread out to nearby homes to explain the health care with all the options available.
Ashley Mioducki of Orlando didn't wait for someone to come to her door; instead she went to the park. "I don't know anything about the new health-insurance options so I thought I'd come and learn," she said. "Health insurance is an economic security that gives people a peace of mind," said Christina Swiridowsky of Jacksonville, another Enroll America organizer. "We want people to know it is coming and that they will have options."
