Peter Codling, a 30 year old post graduate at Innovation Design Engineering has developed a new design for a toilet which will help people completely empty their bowels easily.
This new design of the toilet allows the user to sit in a squatting position. It can lower the incidence of colon cancer, incontinence, heart attacks and hemorrhoids.

This new design promises to be a blessing for women who have had a baby and need to manage incontinence. According to Peter, the squatting position while using the toilet ensures there is not much damage to the nerves controlling the prostate, uterus and bladder.

This new design has been named Le Penseur or The Thinker and it is on display at Royal College of Art in Kensington.

"The products we learn to use from an early age can be relegated to obscurity and no longer challenged. The toilet presented a product that had changed little in hundreds of years and through speaking with healthcare professionals, I found there were great possibilities for innovation. The whole idea is to make life better for as many people as possible, I am hoping that this toilet will eventually be in standard use," he said.
