High Level Committee to Probe Negligence in Former Haryana CM's Death

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has ordered a fresh probe into the alleged lapses in the treatment of late Chief Minister Hukam Singh.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday ordered a fresh probe into the alleged medical negligence by doctors of Post Graduate Medical Institute of Medical Science (PGIMS), Rohtak into the treatment of former Haryana chief minister Hukam Singh.
A high-level committee comprising additional chief secretary, Medical Education and Research, RP Chander and director, Kalpana Chawla Medical College, Karnal Dr Surender Kashyap was constituted to look into the matter.

Incidentally, the constitution of the panel comes just two days after Haryana Director General (Medical Education) Pradeep Kasni submitted his report to Health Minister Anil Vij in which he had recommended suspension of officiating director Rohtas Yadav and senior professor Dhruv Chaudhary for lapses in both treatment and administration.  

Hukam Singh had passed away at a private hospital in Gurgaon on February 26 after he was shifted from PGIMS, Rohtak. The former chief minister was having respiratory problems and was admitted at PGIMS Rohtak initially, he was shifted to Gurgaon after his condition deteriorated, where he died.
